We all know no bandreallybreaks up anymore. And we know that from practically every reunion tour comes a new album. So, even thoughthe Get Up Kidscalled it quits in 2005, and initially said their 2009 reunion tour would be short-lived, it should come as no surprise that the band has a new album coming out on January 25 and announced a slew of accompanying tour dates today.
The band’s new album,There Are Rules, follows a four-song EP the group released earlier this year and will appear on their own label, Quality Hill Records—named after a neighborhood in the group’s hometown of Kansas City. The disc was produced by Ed Rose and will be the band’s first new full-length since 2004’sGuilt Show.
To support the record, the Get Up Kids will embark on a tour in January and February withSteel TrainandRiver City Extensionslotted as openers. The tour kicks off at Houston’s Warehouse Live on January 21 and concludes at Denver’s Marquis Theater on February 5. All shows on the tour are all-ages. Ticket presales begin tomorrow (November 12) and public ticket sales begin next Thursday, November 18.
