Fatboy Slim has been announced as the first headliner to be confirmed for this year’s Relentless Boardmasters festival in Newquay, Cornwall. The DJ will headline Saturday 13th of the event, which runs from 10th – 14th August. The rest of the line-up is yet to be announced. Relentless Boardmasters has taken place every year at Fistral Beach and Watergate Bay in Newquay since 2007. This year’s festival will feature nine stages, including the Relentless Energy Drink Stage and the Vans “Off the Wall” Stage. Last year’s event was headlined by Newton Faulkner and Leftfield and also saw performances from Seasick Steve, Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Gallows.
Fatboy Slim– aka Norman Cook – is the first act to be confirmed for this year’s Relentless Boardmasters. Last year, the DJ released the album ‘Here Lies Love’, a collaboration with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne. It was a concept album about the life of the former First Lady of the PhilippinesImelda Marcos and featured vocal contributions from Florence Welch, Tori Amos, Martha Wainwright, Cyndi Lauper and Roisin Murphy.
